Some people find that they have sexual feelings towards or thoughts about children. This can be confusing and frightening.
A sexual interest in children may arise for many reasons.
The vast majority of individuals feel immense shame if they are sexually interested in children and are afraid to tell anyone. This can lead to a difficult life situation of anxiety, fear, and for some, suicidal thoughts.
Although individuals may not be in control of their feelings of attraction, they can control their actions, ensuring that they don’t act on a harmful attraction.
